Being a see(k)er myself, I viscerally know the experience of being the ‘other,’ or the ‘outsider’. Originally from Amsterdam, my family’s losses combined with the experience of growing up in a community of Holocaust survivors sparked an existential and spiritual quest in me from a young age.
I was nineteen years old when I attended Elizabeth Kubler Ross’ famed death and dying workshops, which was where I came across Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) who introduced me to Tantra. It was reading his book “from sex to superconsciousness” that sparked my quest to bring sexuality and spirituality together.
I received my Tantra training in Germany from the Skydancing Institute when I was twenty years old and became a ‘certified skydancer.’ Throughout my twenties, I was part of a team of Tantric practitioners giving workshops in Amsterdam and beyond. Even though it wasn’t without its challenges, it is a time I remember as “finding my home for the first time.”
After moving to post-Apartheid South Africa in 1998 I went through a process of awakening around my racial and social identity and my focus shifted to working with race, gender and power dynamics in the workplace.
I joined the Center for Conscious Leadership in Johannesburg as a senior associate, co-facilitating dialogues and conflict resolution processes with executive leadership teams.
I completed the Masters in Process Work at the Process Work Institute in Portland and am a certified Process Work Diplomate.
Even though Process Work is my main modality, I draw on the many approaches (including Tantra and the work of Wilhelm Reich and Alexander Lowen) I learnt over the past forty years of working with people in the realm of growth and transformation.
In 2012 I moved to Portland, Oregon, to live with my husband Robert, a visionary artist. I have taught at the South African College of Applied Psychology, the Process Work Institute in Portland and am currently on the faculty of Ecstatic Mysticism (formerly Psychedelic Therapy Training).
Since Covid I am only seeing people via Zoom, allowing me to offer consultations to individuals and relationships in different parts of the world, including the US, Latin American, Europe, Africa and Australia.
In my journey I explore themes of loss and the search for meaning, belonging and selfhood; spiritual and sexual awakening; shadow and social identity; the transformation of interwoven ancestral and personal trauma legacies, and the (often surprising) possibilities for healing and reconciliation this may reveal with the living as well as the dead.
& how it can help you deepen your connection with yourself,
others, your inner powers and purpose
